Austria wins the bid to organise EuroSkills 2020 in Graz

In September 2020, the European largest skills competitions for young people, EuroSkills will be held in Graz, Austria.

Skills Austria as part of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, won the bid to organise the EuroSkills 2020 event, Europe’s largest biannual Skills event. They competed with Skills Finland that also prepared &  presented an outstanding bid. After a voting procedure during the General Assembly in Gothenburg, Sweden, the Austrian bid was best supported.

In Austria, the news was quickly picked up and communicated through various media, including TV channels Servus.tv and Steiermark Heute.

EuroSkills is a European event held biennially in a different European member country. This European contest brings competitors under the age of 25 together to compete with their peers in more than 40 different skills. This is a multifaceted event that is considered the European meeting place for government, education and industry to discuss relevant and important issues with which we want to improve our world with the power of skills, VET and craftsmanship.

EuroSkills brings students, industries and educators together to give youth the chance to compete, experience and learn how to become the best in their skill. From the traditional trades to multi-skilled technology careers in the industry and service sectors, supported by partners, governments, industries, volunteers and educational institutions, EuroSkills is making a direct impact on raising the level of skills throughout the Europe.

This year, in 2016 the EuroSkills event will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden.
