Portimão Arena, Portimão, Portugal
45th edition of Portugal's National Championship of Professions, Portimão 2023. These professional championships are held every 2 years, rotating between the various regions of the country.
In 2023, the Algarve region, in Portimão, will host the event. The 45th National Professions Championship, SkillsPortugal – Portimão 2023, takes place from 7 to 12 March 2023 at the Portimão Arena, under the theme: “The Professions and Sustainable Development Goals”, with around 400 highly qualified young people who will compete with each other in 56 professions.
SkillsPortugal – Portimão 2023, aims to raise awareness of young people, families, companies and other employers, and citizens in general, to the importance of excellent professional qualification as a highly promoter of employability and as a driving force for productivity and economic growth.
The young medalists at this national stage will be able to represent Portugal in the 8th edition of the European Championship for Professions, which will take place in September 2023, in Gdansk, Poland and in the 46th edition of the World Championship for Professions, which will take place in Lyon, France in September 2024.

Ilmatar Arena, Espoo, Finland
Over 40 skills, hundreds of competitors and tens of thousands of visitors together create Taitaja, the biggest educational event in Finland. In 2023, the event is organised by Omnia (the Joint Authority of Education in the Espoo region) together with Skills Finland and their partners. Taitaja aims to promote vocational education, improve connections between vocational schools and companies, and increase the awareness of vocational education and professional skills. The event is free of charge and open for public.

AMBEREXPO Gdańsk, Poland
EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 is the eighth edition of the biennial EuroSkills Competition – the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in Europe. Held every two years and organised by WorldSkills Europe together with 31 Member Countries, EuroSkills brings together hundreds of young professionals from countries across Europe to compete for the chance to become the Best in Europe in their chosen skill.
EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 will welcome 600 skilled young professionals from 31 countries to participate in competitions and demonstrations in 50 different skills and trades. Around 100,000 visitors from across Poland and abroad are expected to attend.
Visitors to EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 will have the opportunity to try hands-on job-related skills across a huge range of careers in a range of ‘Try-a-Skill’ activities, and tens of thousands of school-aged young people who visit will be encouraged to turn their passions into a profession.
EuroSkills Gdańsk 2023 is organised in partnership by Poland’s Foundation For The Development Of The Education System (FRSE), WorldSkills Poland, WorldSkills, Europe the City of Gdańsk and AMBEREXPO Gdańsk.

In France, the WorldSkills Competition is prepared, relayed and coordinated by WorldSkills France and supported by several partners: national and regional public authorities, social partners, companies and training organisations. WorldSkills France organize the national Finals which lead to the creation of the French Skills Team which will defend the colors of France during the WorldSkills Competition. Through its strong involvement in the international network of WorldSkills, WorldSkills France actively contributes to enhancing the level of skills and strengthening the brand image of trades and qualifying vocational training.

AustrianSkills are the Austrian State Championships of Professions where young professionals qualify for EuroSkills and WorldSkills. The competitions are open to all young professionals of dual education as well as vocational schools. The event is organized by SkillsAustria in cooperation with the professional organizations of each trade and the vocational schools:

EUREXPO Lyon, France
WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is the second time for France and Lyon to be the host in the history of the international championship. The 33rd WorldSkills Competition in 1995 took place at EUREXPO Lyon, the same venue that will now host WorldSkills Lyon 2024.
WorldSkills Competition Lyon 2024 is a strong commitment to youth and their future which generates unprecedented international mobilization around skills, competences and excellence.
WorldSkills Lyon 2024 is also a national project centered around the regions, in particular the Metropolis of Lyon. It will be THE springboard and catalyst to develop and promote professional training adapted to current and future needs in terms of employment.
The competition and Team WorldSkills France, which both are a result of the mobilization of regions and the commitment of partners to WorldSkills France, are the first vectors of inspiration for young people and a tangible proof for the next generations of the relevance of skills and competences in a career and personal life with high potential.

The Danish city of Herning will host the ninth EuroSkills Competition in 2025. Herning is home to a thriving industrial sector, with a large international workforce focusing on a shift towards Industry 4.0. This is a result of a long-standing tradition of close cooperation between local industry and businesses, educational institutions, elementary schools and the municipality.
